IPQ Technology vs. Ping Technology
While many monitoring services only use a Ping (a signal to another computer to see if it’s up and running) to check your devices, AlertMeFirst performs IPQs.

What’s the difference?
A Ping will check the path through the Internet and the network card in the Web server or other device you are monitoring. However, in the case of a Web server, this will not check for the proper functioning of your Web hosting software (e.g. Apache, IIS), operating system, or the server hardware (CPU, Disk, RAM etc.), and it will not tell you if your Web server is capable of sending out Web pages or whether these pages have the correct information. AlertMeFirst’s unique IPQ technology goes well beyond a simple Ping and will very accurately tell you how all the components of your Web service are functioning, and most importantly how your customers will actually experience your Web site.
